Walk + Talk Therapy in Salado, Texas
Therapy doesn’t have to happen sitting across from each other.
Sometimes it feels easier to talk while you're moving.
Walk + Talk therapy gives you the opportunity to step outside the traditional therapy office and have your session while walking outdoors in a peaceful, natural setting. We can walk, talk, slow down, pause, or simply take a breath when you need one.
For some people, being outside and moving their body makes it easier to open up, think clearly, and feel more comfortable during therapy.
Truth be told, walk + talk sessions are my favorite way to do therapy!
We'll meet at a designated outdoor location in the Salado, Texas area and spend our session walking together. You don't need to be a fast walker or even an athlete. There is something special about getting some movement in, sinking into your body, and letting nature be your co-therapist
We'll still do the same meaningful therapeutic work we would do in a traditional session. We might talk through anxiety, obsessive thoughts, body image, disordered eating, relationships, difficult emotions, or whatever brought you to therapy that day.
Sometimes we'll walk the whole time. Sometimes we'll stop and sit for a while. The session is still therapy, the setting is simply a little different.

The Texas weather is unpredictable! Rain, cold, or heat won't necessarily stop us from getting out there. The only time I call it is if it’s snowing, icy, or above 100 degrees in the summer.
We can plan as the seasons change the best time of day to hit the trail!

Since we are walking outdoors, we might encounter other people during your session. I'll remind you about this at our first Walk + Talk, but I'll always do my best to lower my voice, keep things vague, or change the subject if we come within earshot of someone else.
If we see someone we know while we’re out and about, we can say hey very briefly and then get back to moving with you!
Please Note:
If you have an injury, medical concerns, or your eating disorder has impacted you medically, let’s go ahead and sit for session. Our intro call is a good time to discuss if walk + talk therapy is appropriate for you.
